The Terrace at the Charlotte Inn in Edgartown reopened this week, just in time to enjoy the romantic old-world ambience of the restaurant for Valentine’s Day. Chef Justin Melnick will serve up a special prix-fixe dinner using regional and Island-sourced ingredients for a menu that includes velvety red beet soup, a choice of three starters and three entrées, and chocolate and hazelnut mousse, at $75 per person. The Harbor View Hotel is now accepting reservations for their $54 per-person, three-course prix-fixe menu for Valentine’s Day, featuring lobster cognac potage, foie gras, yellowfin tuna, filet mignon, and a guanaja chocolate mousse cake, among other tasty selections. Also in Edgartown, the Square Rigger and Alchemy have also both reopened in time for the holiday and are accepting reservations for dinner.
The Grill on Main will offer its popular 2-for-1 entrée special on Valentine’s Day; it’s available every Thursday through Saturday. Sharky’s, Copper Wok, and Chowder Co. are also catering to the frugal couple, with a special valentine’s dessert promotion. Call any of the restaurants to make a reservation for Feb. 14, and receive a free dessert if you spend at least $15 per person and make your reservation at least 3 hours in advance.
The Ocean View Restaurant in Oak Bluffs will be celebrating with chefs’ specials in the dining room until 10 pm, with seatings at 5, 7, and 8:30 pm. Enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne with your entrée, and enter to win a complete dinner for two (drawing will take place at the end of the evening, and the winner will be posted on Facebook). Ocean View’s Tavern will be serving until 11 pm (no reservations needed), and will be crafting special valentine-themed cocktails like the Forbidden Apple, the Chocolate-Caramel Martini, and the Pucker Up.
